My husband and I got married on December 14, 2002. Two months after our wedding day, we found out I was pregnant. Two weeks after, I experienced bleeding and we lost our baby.

Years passed after my miscarriage but we were not able to conceive again. I was diagnosed to have polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) in 2005, the main reason it was very difficult for me to get pregnant. I was also told that I had endometriosis -- my ovaries were too small and they produce very few egg cells which made it even harder to conceive. We went through series of tests, laboratory works and medications.

We were then advised by my cousin, a devotee of Our Lady of Lourdes, to try to attend the novena prayers in preparation for her Feast Day, February 11. And finally, the Virgin of Lourdes allowed us to conceive our first child who was born on April 15, 2006. As a token of our gratitude to the Blessed Lady, we included a variant of Mama Mary’s name to our daughter’s name.

We then made a solemn promise to return to her shrine every year to pray the novena in her honor and to five thanks for the greatest blessing that we have received – and that’s our daughter. We will forever be grateful to Our Lady of Lourdes for hearing our plea and blessing us with a very beautiful, smart, healthy, and God-fearing child. Our daughter is now 7 years old and we bring her to the shrine with us during the novena.

Truly, the intercession of Our Lady of Lourdes brings miracles and happiness to those whose hearts were once deprived of hope and strength.

My daughter is a living testimony of the Blessed Virgin’s love to those who seek her help and mercy.
